Hi! I'm Meg
I am a trauma survivor, licensed educator, and trauma-trained somatic practitioner who is passionate about education and empowerment in the trauma healing and support space. As a survivor, I spent far too many years feeling numb and disconnected, crushed under the weight of trauma and stuck in a seemingly endless shame cycle. I lived in a chronic state of anxiety and fully internalized the belief that I would spend my life having panic attacks and catastrophizing about the future because I had internalized the belief that my anxiety was a personality trait.
After becoming the victim of several sexual assaults in adulthood, my anxiety soared to new heights and my nervous system couldn't take the amount of overwhelm, resulting in a complete and total shutdown. My self-protective behaviors manifested in the form of addictive behaviors as I desperately tried to numb the pain.
After years of talk therapy proving unsuccessful, I finally found healing in understanding the way our bodies were designed. Once I understood the way the nervous system interacts with trauma, everything started to make sense and I was able to extend myself compassion and grace for the first time.
The information I have learned and the skills I have acquired over the last decade of my life about trauma survivors and the ways in which they are best supported are too important to not share with the world.
Everybody deserves to understand themselves. To not feel alone. To be seen in the midst of their darkest hours. To be validated in their pain. To be HELD.
